The third-year BSITTM students experienced a three-day tour in the breathtaking province of Palawan, one of Philippines’s top tourist destinations. CEU Class of 2024 Bids Farewell in Sampaguita Interlude

Centro Escolar University (CEU) is set to stage its annual Sampaguita Interlude, a cherished tradition that marks the transition from student to graduate. This year, the event will be held on July 17, 2024, for the Manila campus and July 18, 2024, for the Makati campus at the CEU North Quadrangle. CEU Malolos will hold its interlude on July 19, 2024 at the CEU Centrodome.

For the Manila campus, the interlude will begin with the School of Medical Technology, School of Science and Technology, and School of Education, Liberal Arts, Music at 9:00 a.m. The School of Nursing and School of Optometry will follow at 11:00 a.m. The School of Dentistry will hold its ceremony at 3:00 p.m., and the School of Pharmacy, School of Accountancy and Management, and School of Nutrition and Hospitality Management will conclude the day at 5:00 p.m. Each cluster's ceremony will start with a Baccalaureate Mass at the Librada Avelino Auditorium.

That of CEUMakati campus will start at 9:00 a.m., and CEU Malolos campus will be at 8:00 a.m.

The Sampaguita Interlude, held few days before the graduation rites, is an event unique to CEU. During the interlude, senior and junior students gather to create beautiful flower formations while singing songs that celebrate the sampaguita, the national flower of the Philippines. This event symbolizes the unity and continuity within the CEU community. A highlight of the ceremony is the symbolic transfer of responsibility. Graduating students pass sampaguita garlands to their junior partners, symbolizing the handing over of duties and responsibilities to the next batch of senior students. This tradition not only honors the achievements of the graduates but also inspires the incoming seniors to uphold the values and standards of CEU.

The Sampaguita Interlude is more than just a ceremony. It is a rite of passage that strengthens the bond among CEU students and fosters a sense of pride and belonging within the Escolarian community. As graduates move on to the next chapter of their lives, they carry with them the values and lessons learned in CEU, embodied by the delicate yet resilient sampaguita flower.

This year’s Sampaguita Interlude promises to be a memorable event, celebrating the accomplishments of the graduates and the enduring spirit of the CEU community.
