Who will be crowned as Mr. and Ms. CEU 2025 Icons of Tomorrow?

Centro Escolar University’s Search for the next ambassadors of character and competence is nearing its Coronation Night on May 2, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., at the Student Activity Center.

The Mr. and Ms. CEU pageant goes beyond the usual spectacle. As one of the University’s hallmark events, it provides an enriching platform for students to grow in confidence, cultivate their talents, and champion advocacies close to their hearts.

With months of rigorous training, mentorship, and participation in major university events, this year’s candidates are poised to captivate the CEU community. 

Nine gentlemen and ten ladies will vie for the coveted titles, namely: Ashley Theary B. Mallari and John Julius U. Reyes from the School of Accountancy and Management; Romeo D. Ocampo IV and Norie Joy A. Cordel from the School of Dentistry; David King L. Escio and Kerstin Cassandra M. Dequito from the School of Education, Liberal Arts, Music and Social Work; Hanz Jeremiah G. Casio and Kristina Michaela C. Sumadsad from the School of Medical Technology; Jhon Smith C. Navarro, Jr. and Danielle V. Tengson from the School of Nursing; Juliana Louise C. Rivera from the School of Nutrition and Hospitality Management; Marcus Daniel G. Cortez, and Geneva C. San Jose from the School of Optometry; Justine Atasha R. Asis from the School of Pharmacy; Juan Leandro M. Maglonzo and Duane Ile A. Dondoyano from the School of Science and Technology; Jason F. Rivera and Althea Louise S. Pungan from the CEU Makati; and Emmanuel T. Aguilera from the CEU Malolos.

The successors will follow in the footsteps of last year’s titleholders, Julian Ray C. Ponce from the School of Nursing and Aira Faith B. Manumbas from CEU Malolos, who have served as outstanding student ambassadors throughout their reign.

More than just crowns and sashes, the winners will be awarded a 100% discount on tuition and miscellaneous fees, making this not only a prestigious honor but also a transformative opportunity.

Behind the scenes, the event is being brought to life through the dedication of the Student Affairs Office, with Dr. Carlito Olaer as Executive Producer, Dr. Ramil Cuerdo as Director and Scriptwriter, and a dedicated production team committed to delivering a spectacular and meaningful event.

CEU Conservatory of Music Professor and Alumnus Wins NCCA Awards

Centro Escolar University Conservatory of Music professor and alumnus Ian Gabriel Corpuz received two prestigious awards by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).

Ian emerged as the Category Winner in the Handbell Ensemble Level III with his composition Amiánan. This marks a historic moment as it is the first time the Handbell category is introduced in the competition.

Adding to his list of accolades, Ian has also been honored with the Ani ng Dangal award by NCCA. The Ani ng Dangal, or Harvest of Honor, is a recognition granted to Filipino artists who have earned international acclaim in various artistic fields. Now in its 17th year, the award celebrates the excellence of Filipino talents who have brought pride to the country through their remarkable contributions to the arts.

This year, a total of 39 individuals were recognized across five artistic disciplines, with Ian being among the 15 awardees in the music category. His achievements include winning the Palouse Choral Society 3rd Annual Composition Contest 2024 and Ensemble Altera’s 4th Annual Composition Competition 2024, further showcasing his excellence on an international scale.

Ian’s achievements and his continuous dedication to music and education stand as an inspiration to the CEU community and aspiring musicians across the nation.
